Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

The Opal Foundation has donated £100,000 to Manchester’s New Children's Hospital Appeal, to assist in the building of a parental unit, enabling parents to stay with their sick children.

This valuable addition to the facilities of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital greatly assists parents in staying close to their children during challenging periods, something that has been proven to boost recovery.

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital opened in central Manchester in June 2009.  The hospital is one of five located close together along Oxford Road, ensuring access to specialist support and better treatment for all patients. Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital treats over 135,000 patients every year.  They come from all over the North West of England and from other parts of the country for some very specialised treatments.
