Cedar Mount High School, Manchester
Cedar Mount High School was one of the first to join the project, back in May 2007. The choir has a wide range of members, from years 7 to 11 with diverse cultural backgrounds - all of whom have shown the utmost dedication and commitment to the initiative.
The choir received expert support from the Royal Northern College of Music, and renowned Choral Director, David Lawrence - who has an international reputation and is particularly known for his work with "Young Voices".
In preparation for the Opal Choir project, the choir had been working hard to learn different genres of music. They were involved in a three day workshop with contemporary music ensemble, "The Shout", culminating in a special performance with members of the group.
