Fundraising
The Opal Foundation will be working with partners throughout 2009 to raise money for the Opal Africa appeal. The poster below sets out those things we intend to sponsor, with the intention of raising at least £500k over the next 5 years. The project developed with AMREF is aimed at achieving sustainable improvements in the life chances of children through health and education. This will include the provision of schools, health centres and clean water.
The first campaign, “A Pint For Africa” will be followed by a nationwide abseiling competition in Sept 2009.

If every resident in Opal Properties (16000 in total) gives up the equivalent of a pint of beer (£2.50), we will raise enough to build a deep bore hole to provide approximately 16000 people with clean water for life. Simple!
